1-1 Customized sessions explicitly tailored for your student.
Transitioning from middle to high school is stressful; students must adjust to a different and larger school; tackle increased quantity and difficulty in their academic work; adapt to new teaching styles; and, make new friends. Parents may need to support a previously confident, successful child in new ways. From self-awareness gained from the MMIT-C (the youth version of the popular MBTI), students will identify and learn to leverage their natural strengths.
1) We will look at “stretch” areas that might increase the challenges of stress and time management and study and group communication skills.
2) We will also discuss strengths and stretches as they apply to pursue an IB or AP curriculum.
3) Each student will receive a “Recommendations and Action Plan” to guide their transition to 9th grade. It will outline strategies and techniques to help them succeed and develop the confidence that self-awareness brings.
The program consists of three sessions: two one-hour 1-1 session with the student and one half-hour conversation with the student and parent.
